Enrollment Status:  Class availability is limited, waitlist is available.

For ages 6 and up.  We proudly welcome students of beginning to advanced levels but seek highly motivated and serious students who desire achievements in the visual arts.  New enrollments will undergo interview and review process prior to acceptance of enrollment. There are no classes scheduled Wednesday through Friday evenings, all other classes are scheduled accordingly.  Please email availability, phone registration, or more information.  Spaces are limited, so enroll and register for art class today!  Download Enrollment Forms!


Fundamental Drawing Class (Age limit: 6 and up)

Monday through Thursday: 400-600pm, and Saturday & Sunday: 100-300pm & 400-600pm, or by arrangement only
$115 per month (4 classes typical)


Class Description:
This class will focus on basic drawing techniques in graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, pastel, and more.  Students will develop an understanding of all art elements: line, shape, color, space, value, and texture, and will be able to learn to apply them on their projects.  We will work on the identification of color, pattern, art observation, meaning, and visual literacy.  This class will require weekly student binders and sketchbooks for evaluation and is structured progressively, but will implement differentiated instruction to accommodate the varying skill levels.  This class will support and promote the visual arts standards for all K-12 levels and will enhance foundations and technique based art skills.  (All materials included, except sketchbook)

Oil Painting Class (Age limit: 7 and up)

Monday through Thursday:  400-600pm, and Saturday & Sunday : 100-300pm & 400-600pm, or by arrangement only
$120 per month (4 classes typical)


Class Description:
This class welcomes beginning to experienced students.  This class will focus immediately on basic drawing techniques onto canvas, color mixing, brush control, and varied painting techniques.  This class is structured progressively, but will implement differentiated instruction to accommodate the varying skill levels.  Also, students will identify and develop an understanding of all art elements: line, shape, color, space, value, and texture, and be able to apply them on their paintings.  (All materials included, except canvases)

Watercolor Class  (Age limit: 8 and up) 
             

Times and Days:  By appointment or arrangement only
$115 per month (4 typical classes)


Class Description:

This class welcomes beginning to experienced students.  This class teaches basic watercolor structure and technique, such as graduated wash and even wash.  Students will understand how to use these techniques and apply them to their projects.  The class will focus on brush control, water levels, color theory, and inking techniques.  (All materials included)

3D and Sculpture Class  (Age limit: 7 and up)

$120 per month (4 typical classes)


Class Description:

This class welcomes beginning to experienced students.  This class teaches basic sculpting techniques in the forms of clay, wire, foil, paper mache, and basketry.  (All materials included).

Portraiture (Recommended Age limit: 9 and up) 

Times and Days:  By appointment or arrangement only
$130 per month (4 classes typical)


Class Description:
This class will focus on drawing or painting people portraits using techniques in graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, pastel, acrylic, or oil paints.  Students will develop an understanding of all art elements: line, shape, form, space, color, value, and texture, and will be able to apply them on their projects.  This class will teach grid line systems, live observation, and rendering techniques to get realistic results.  Recommended for experienced art students.  (All materials included)

Open Studio Day Class  (Adults Only)


 

Times and Days: By appointment or arrangement only
$100 per month (4 classes typical)

Class Description:
This adult only day class offers oil painting and drawing instruction for beginners to more experienced students.  Included are varied oil painting and drawing technique instruction.  Open to all themes including traditional, technique based, conceptual, still life, and portraiture.  (All materials included, unless noted)

Advanced Art Portfolio Class 

Times and Days: By appointment or arrangement only
$130 per month (4 classes typical)

Class Description:
This class will guide and prepare the serious art student towards the demanding art portfolio requirements for high school or beyond.  This class welcomes the differing needs of each student and their art concentration.  Students will express their artwork skills and talents through varied mediums including drawing, painting, and sculpting.  All projects are thematic and conceptually geared to be original and
technical in composition.  Although this class is portfolio based, it can be used for advanced art enrichment.  Opportunities for art contest and shows available!  (All materials included, unless noted)

Requirements:  Portfolio review and at least 1 year of art classes taken, or teacher approval

Teacher Sid Veloria continues to be involved in ongoing community outreach projects and art auction to help support cancer research, homeless awareness, literacy and youth programs in the South Bay and East Bay areas.
